Piccolo Bacco dei QuaroniA geometric-inspired visual system for boutique wine

Piccolo Bacco dei Quaroni is a family-run winery based in Montù Beccaria, a small town near Pavia. The family started on this journey in 2001 when they acquired the historic winery. At the heart of their business, there is a deep passion and expertise in producing wines from this region, with a commitment to respecting nature and embracing the natural cycles of the vine. Their approach emphasizes slow wine maturation, tradition, and minimal environmental impact. The primary challenge of the project was to create a modern, contemporary identity and unify the visual language across their labels, giving the brand a recognizable look and feel in the market.

Design and strategy

To create a more modern aesthetic, the design system has been refreshed with a new colour palette, typography, and graphic elements. This updated identity has been applied across the packaging and labels, bringing consistency to the brand. The design incorporates a set of geometric shapes that capture the distinct qualities of each wine, from rich, aged reds to fresh, fruity whites. Each wine label is unique, featuring a different composition of shapes and colours to reflect its individual character. A new typographic system was also introduced, pairing a serif font for wine names and a sans-serif font for grape varieties, enhancing hierarchy and readability.
